Thoughts and Prayers for Our Brothers from Buffalo

Monday, August 31st, 2009

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Families and Friends of Lt. Charles “Chip” McCarthy & Firefighter Jonathan Croom, of the Buffalo Fire Department. Lt. McCarthy and Firefighter Croom arrived on the scene to numerous reports of a person trapped in the basement of a 2 story ordinary construction tax payer with fire showing. The two men initiated a rapid primary search of the building when the first floor gave way, sending the two men into the basement. The members on the fireground worked as hard as possible to rescue their 2 heroes but the men succumbed to their injuries prior to being pulled from the building. Lt. Charles “Chip” McCarthy & Firefighter Jonathan Croom preformed their duties in the highest tradition on the fire service and the Wheeling Fire Department thanks them for their service and remembers their sacrifice.
